The Doctor of Management in Healthcare Program jointly held by Southern Medical University (SMU) and ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) is China's first and currently the only doctor of management program with approval from the Ministry of Education in the major of "healthcare policy and management", targeting at senior managers in the medical and health industry.
It is approved by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China and gains the approval letter of China-foreign cooperative program issued by the Ministry of Education. The number of approval letter is MOE44PT1A20121213N
The program aims to integrate the superior educational resources of the two universities and provide an international learning, exchange and research platform for middle and senior management boards a master's degree in management or others in the medical and health industry and related fields, thereby conducting a more systematical and in-depth study to analyze the general and special problems in the practice of management in medical and health fields and emerging fields related.
This Chinese-Portuguese cooperative Doctor of Management in Healthcare Program (DMH) is based on the academic standards of the Doctoral Degree in Management of ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), and the courses are combined with the features of the medical and health industry.
Excellent professors from both China and Portugal jointly deliver lectures at Southern Medical University (Guangzhou Campus). After completing the course and thesis, candidates will be awarded the Doctor of Management by ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), which is also approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Senior administrators of hospitals, senior managers of pharmaceutical / medical device manufacturing and distribution companies, and senior executives of administrative departments in the field of medicine, health and related industries.

Admission
The admission evaluations and interviewswill adopt the European university's interview-based test model. Southern Medical University and ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) will jointly form a "qualification committee" to conduct comprehensive evaluation and interviews of applicants, mainly reviewing applicants' learning ability, professional achievements, leadership skills and personal potential. Please note that it is a merit-based enrollment.
