Roy Duncan 教授简介:

Dr. Roy Duncan’s research group discovered the FAST proteins, a novel family of viral Fusion-Associated Small Transmembrane proteins. The FAST proteins are the smallest known membrane fusion proteins, the only example of protein fusogens encoded by nonenveloped viruses, and they function specifically to mediate cell-cell membrane fusion and syncytium formation. These non-structural viral proteins are virulence determinants of the fusogenic reoviruses, and employ a novel mechanism-of-action to mediate membrane fusion. This presentation will focus on recent studies examining FAST protein motifs that regulate protein trafficking, exosome biogenesis, and the relationship to virus pathogenicity.
