Ⅰ. Preface
Medical education system and medical health system in the China are distinctly different from that in western developed countries. What are the differences? Since people western developed countries and regions have the leading medical technology in the global, what is the gap between us? In western developed countries and regions there are a lot of experience and lessons in terms of health care reform. And what can we learn from that?
Ⅱ. Introducing the program
Study Tour abroad and Research of the Summer (Winter) Camp Program of Southern Medical University targets young students who aspire to the career of medicine and health management. They will go to medical research institutions, famed medical universities, medical laboratories, medical museums and pharmaceutical companies in western developed countries and regions for in-depth medical research. The project covers exchange activities with medical experts in education, medicine and health management experts, medical project researchers, doctors and medical students, so that those young students can better understand the medical education system, health care system, medical research institutions and medical research projects in western developed countries and regions. They can also set clearer goals. In the project, they will also visit the world’s first-class colleges and well-known scenic spots.
Ⅲ. Advantages and characteristics of the project
1. Field research
Visit medical research institutions, first-tier medical colleges, medical laboratories, medical museums, medical institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
2. In-depth exchange
Communicate with medical experts in education, medicine and health management experts, medical project researchers, doctors and medical students and overseas students face to face.
3. Adjustment to individuals
As the backbone, medical young teachers lead schools students to form study and research groups and discuss on around the medicine and its related education, scientific research and management.
4. Broadening horizons
By visiting cultural scenic spots, visitors will have a more comprehensive understanding of the philosophy and culture of western countries.
Ⅳ. Target
The project targets not only young teachers, postgraduates and undergraduates in medical colleges, but also managers and medical workers in hospitals or in the medicine and health system
Ⅴ. Research Management
In the entire process, leaders are teachers from the International Programs Office of the School of Humanities and Management of Southern Medical University.
Ⅵ. Routes
There are perennial routes in Europe and the United States with visits to famous universities and tourist attractions.
