南方医科大学公共卫生学院流行病学系教授，博士生导师，博士后合作导师。近5年主持国家自然科学基金面上项目2项，省部级科研项目3项。以通讯作者在《Journal of Hepatology》《Diabetes Care》 《Chest》等期刊发表SCI论文52篇，个人GOOGLE H指数31，2022年入选斯坦福大学Mendeley Data“全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单”，担任《Annals of Internal Medicine》等著名期刊审稿专家，国家自然科学基金评审专家。
《流行病学》国家级一流课程负责人；曾获省部级教学成果一等奖3项、三等奖2项，主编和参编教材５部。培养的研究生获广东省优秀硕士2人，获国家奖学金8人次。目前担任教育部工程中心副主任，广东省重点实验室副主任，广东省卫生学会秘书长、广东省公共卫生与预防医学教指委秘书长、广东省专业学位研究生教育指导委员会委员。
