Good morningladies and gentlemen,

 

My name is Chen Xinyan, you can also call me Christina. I am currently studying Public Service Administration in Southern Medical University. It’s my pleasure to share some living and learning experience in ISCTE-IUL with you.

 

As a student of School of Health Services Management, I’m much honored to have the opportunity to participate in the student exchange program to ISCTE-IUL in my junior year for one semester. During that period, I experienced outstanding education quality, special teaching style and various group works in ISCTE-IUL. Also, my local colleagues were very kind to help me overcome many difficulties, not only for my study, but also for my daily life. Thus, I made a big progress in co-operation, self-confidence and expression ability. Besides, the weather as well as social atmosphere in Portugal is wonderful. So, Portugal and ISCTE-IUL leave me a good impression. The reason that I choose to join in this program without hesitation is because it is beneficial for me to save time achieving master degree and find a satisfying job in the future.

 

I believe that many of you are curious about ISCTE-IUL, just like I did before. Of course, you can easily browse its basic information online, but I would like to show you more about ISCTE-IUL by summing up four characteristics. First of all, ISCTE-IUL advocates small-classes teaching. It’s a good way to enhance efficient communications between students and professors. Secondly, ISCTE-IUL has abundant resources. Although the scale of campus is not large, the school offers not only free exchange opportunity and dual master degree program, but also a great deal of job opportunities. Moreover, since in-class performances and individual assignments attach great importance to the professors’ impression on each student, it is very important to actively engage in class discussion and self-expression. Last but not the least, scores of group works play a significant role in final grades, so don’t hesitate to speak up and try your best to cooperate with other team members.

 

In the next two years, improving my English writing ability is my priority since proficiency in English will greatly impact my master studies. Also, making a good balance between my undergraduate and graduate study is essential, which requires me to manage my time effectively. If I have spare time, I plan to learn some Portuguese because my previous living experience in Portugal proved that knowing some Portuguese is very useful in daily life.

 

My dear friend, this master program is an opportunity for us to stand outside the world and to learn how to build a new self. I hope we are able to unite as a big family together. And, each of us can have a promising future. Thank you very much!
