I.Admission Requirements

1. Applicants should have a foreign citizenship, a valid passport and meet the relevant requirements for international students to study in China

2. Age requirements:

1) Doctoral Degree Candidate: under the age of 40

2) Master Degree Candidate: under the age of 35

3) Bachelor Degree Candidate: under the age of 30

II.Application Deadline

1.Self-supporting applicants(visiting scholars): every year during December and June of next year.

2.Chinese government scholarship applicants-Bilateral Program: apply to the international students dispatch department or the Chinese Embassy (consulate-general) in the country concerned during early January and early March. 3.Chinese government scholarship applicants-University Program: apply to the University during early January and early March. III.Application Instructions

Register at SMU International Students Management System (https://fimmu.at0086.cn/Student). Fill in the application information and upload the required application materials.

Visit the homepage of School of International Education of Southern Medical University (https://istudy.smu.edu.cn/pc/).

IV.Application Materials

1. Photocopies of the visa page and photo page of passport (ordinary passport in validity time);

2. Photocopy of Highest Academic Degree Certificate (notarized), Expected Graduation Certificate for fresh graduates;

3. Transcript of all courses during the highest academic degree education (original notarized copy or its photocopy, certificates in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English);

4. ID photo (2-inch blue background photo without hats);

5. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (photocopy);

6. Certificate of language proficiency;

7. Self-introduction video (3-5 minutes, no more than 50M);

8. Financial Support Guarantee Statement and scanned copies of its supporting documents completed in Chinese or English, certifying that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover his or her tuition, accommodation, living expenses and international travels during his or her study in China. The minimum amount of funding required is RMB 150,000. Only one’s relatives can act as his or her financial sponsor. The statement should be accompanied by a scanned copy of the financial sponsor’s valid passport or identification certificate (self-supporting applicants should submit this statement);

9. Original Authorization to the Guardian (for self-supporting applicants under the age of 18 by September 1, 2023) needs to be notarized with signatures. If not notarized in China, the endorsement of local Chinese Embassy is required.

★ Guardians shall be Chinese or foreign adults who reside in China with stable source of income.

★ Graduation certificate and transcript should be notarized.

★ The University will request for supplementary materials when necessary.

★ Application materials mentioned above will not be returned to applicants whether they are admitted or not.

★ All the forms can be downloaded from the official website of School of International Education.
