Positron Emission Tomography Team (PET Team)

The PET team is a leading team in the field of nuclear medical imaging which aims at localizing and industrializing positron emission tomography (PET) in China. The core members of this team, who are scientists from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), have years of experience of designing state-of-the-art PET systems and industrializing the design of medical equipment. The team has conducted extensive cooperation with SMU’s Medical Image Processing Laboratory, a provincial key laboratory in Guangdong.

Main tasks of this team are:

1. presiding over the establishment of the standard protocol of OpenPET as an Asian partner and the promotion of the protocol in Asia;

2. developing a prototype of whole-body PET machine that conforms to the protocol of the OpenPET system.
