简    介:Hongjie Yu, MD, MPH, PhD
       Hongjie Yu is Director of the Division for Infectious Diseases, China CDC. Dr Yu joined the Expanded Program on Immunization Division of the China CDC in 1994, and he devoted himself in Liaoning province to eradicating polio and elimination of measles for seven years. After selected to participate in the first cohort of Chinese Field Epidemiology Training Program in China CDC in 2001, he was appointed as the Chief of the Branch of Respiratory Infectious Disease, Office for Disease Control and Emergency Response, China CDC in 2003, where he remained until accepting a new position as the Deputy director of the Office for Disease Control and Emergency Response in 2006. From 2010 to 2011, he worked in Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA, USA as a guest researcher. In 2012, he was promoted to his present role as the Director, Division for Infectious Diseases, China CDC.
 
     His research interests include the epidemiology, transmission dynamics, and surveillance of infectious diseases such as SARS, avian and swine influenza, Hand Food Mouth Disease, Rabies, Brucellosis, and Streptococcus suis, as well as seasonal influenza, pneumococcal and Hib diseases. He takes research on vaccines for these diseases, including their efficacy, safety, and cost effectiveness, aiming to help to develop immunization services and evidence-based vaccination recommendations and policy.
 
       Currently, Dr Yu is a member of The WHO Advisory Group of the Global Action Plan (GAP AG) for Influenza Vaccines, member of the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) Working Group on influenza vaccines and immunization, member of the China Ministry of Health’s National Committees on Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, and secretary –general and committee member of National Standards Committee of Infectious Diseases.
 
        Dr Yu has published over 70 articles in international journals, including The Lancet, the New England Journal of Medicine, PLoS Medicine, BMJ, Nature Communications, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Vaccine. In specific, he had 5 papers published in The Lancet, 2 in BMJ, 2 in PLoS Medicine, 1 in Lancet Infectious Disease, and 1 in Nature Communications as the first author or senior corresponding author. He also serves as an editor for BMC Infectious Diseases, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and Chinese Science Bulletin. In addition, he has been invited to regularly review articles by more than 20 international/local medical journals including The Lancet, BMJ, Vaccine, and Emerging Infectious Disease.
